Pietro Ferrara, Senior Vice President
Pietro leads the vision, strategy and development of the new business division of Craneware Healthcare Intelligence (CHI). He steps into the SVP role with over 20 years of international experience in Healthcare Finance & Management for multi-entity organizations.
He has conducted several innovative and groundbreaking initiatives and was actively involved in the start-up of a multi-organ transplant center in Europe. He also pioneered the development of many decision support systems, in particular he successfully lead the design and implementation of several Activity Based Costing Solutions for healthcare providers.
Pietro has an extensive background in the healthcare industry. Prior to joining CHI, he worked in a broad range of organizational structures including academic medical centers, a multi-organ transplant center and consulting firms in both the USA and Europe. He held many roles in various areas, including hospital management, budgeting and planning, cost accounting, supply chain, clinical operations, medical records and patient reimbursement. Has also conducted several data analytic initiatives which lead to effective process improvement projects.
Pietro holds a Bachelor of Science and Master’s Degree in Economics and Business from the University of Palermo (Italy), as well as a Masters in Management of Healthcare Services.
Scott Mark, Vice President
Scott is the VP of Product Management, Customer Management and Implementation of Craneware Healthcare Intelligence (CHI). Dr. Mark is a seasoned healthcare executive with over 25 years of experience in progressive operational and senior roles.
Prior to joining CHI, he held roles as the VP of Strategy and Operations for large multi-hospital integrated delivery network systems where he was responsible for implementing a post-acute care business and service line. Previously, he served as the VP of IT where he was responsible for the implementation of a system-wide electronic health record (EHR).
Previously, he served concurrent roles as the Vice Chair for a top research university, and as a service-line department head at a large medical center which encompassed multiple hospitals locations with both domestic and international facilities. In addition to his vast experience, Scott also served as a department head at a large pediatric hospital. He also brings a wealth of consulting experiences in which he served as a National Practice Director for one of the big four accounting firms and a labor and productivity Director for a national publically traded consulting firm.
Scott holds graduate degrees in pharmacy, management, human resource development, business administration, public health and accounting. He is a fellow in several organizations including the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and the Advisory Board Company. In addition to this, Scott has received a variety of national awards for education, leadership and mentoring, marketing, and professional service. He was inducted into the National Academy of Practice (NAP) as a Distinguished Practitioner, and subsequently served as the Chair. He has appeared on several national media programs that discussed national healthcare issues and has been cited in several print medial publications. He has given more than 125 presentations, published over 70 manuscripts and 30 book chapters on professional practice issues.
